Problems with an Asus A2500s

Hi, I see you´re kind of experts in the ATI video cards, so you might help me with a problem that´s been bothering me a lot.

Here´s the thing, my boss has an asus a2500s laptop computer and he wants to run windows xp on it, but read this out, this asus laptop has a sticker that says that it has been design for windows xp but when I tray to load xp into it at the mere end of the installation video signal stops so I figured that it could be related with the video driver xp has built-in, but how come I can load windows 2000 problems free (except it needs all drivers) and xp sp2 or sp3 won´t work???

It´s driving me crazy, is there a way you could help me with this, I already tried to download the drivers from AMD´s downloads page but I can´t seem to make it work!!!!

Please if you can help me out solve this issue I´ll appreciate it greatly!

ASUS A2500S

SIS based chipset
Pentium 4 Processor 3.06 GHz
256 MB RAM Memory
40 GB HDD
it has 1394 (one port only)
ATI MOBILITY Radeon 9600
2 USB 2.0 Ports on the right side
Serial Number 48NG007201
MODEL A2500S 24M

I don't know if there are SiS drivers for the chipset, but if so make sure to install those also. Is the xp you try to install already with sp2 or sp3 included? if not try to slipstream the sp3 into the XP cd, you could use a program called nLite for that. That would be the best to try and then use the XP with slipstreamed SP3 to install and see if that works.

For the driver you can also try to use an older version like 7.11 or 8.2 and mod those with Mobility Modder and then see if you can install those.
