First of all thanks for the tool! Your work is greatly appreciated!
Unfortunately I have a problem with it. I am able to mod the Catalyst 8.7 for my Mobility 9700 and install it without a hitch. BUT in CCC there is no possibility to change the "Monitor Properties" for my external monitor. The menu is just not there. So I can't change the maximum supported resolution and the DCC/EDID status. Even ATI Tray Tools wouldn't allow that. I can get a signal on the external though, but can't configure it the way I would like to. Question is: Mod Tool's or driver's fault? |

Hi,
the Mobility Modder could also not mod the latest Catalyst for my Acer TravelMate 8100 with an X700. Therefore I changed some files by comparison/cut'n'paste with the driver available from Acer. I did this several times now - also the latest available Omega driver needs this hack - and as always installation and driver are working. I've uploaded the files I've modded to RapidShare RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace I hope I've added all needed files for enabling someone to add this type of device to the Mobility Modder . what I've modified
Hi,
I've made a unified diff of the original ATI files vs. my version of the three files l've modified. In principle, I've added the Acer provided chipset id's and removed all other types - nothing more . I've made an unified diff between the ATI original and my version of each file and uploaded another zipfile to rapidshare: RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace in .\Driver\INSTALL.INI I've added the following: [WINXP] Label=R6 R6=DriverPath_R6,0x3150:0x00701025,0x5653:0x007010 25 DriverPath_R6=\XP_INF,CX_66900.INF ; everything else deleted It's the same for .\Driver\CX_66900.INI in .\Driver\XP_INF\CX_6900.inf I've added [ATI.Mfg.NTx86] "ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600" = ati2mtag_M24, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_3150&SUBSYS_00701025 "ATI MOBILITY RADEON X700" = ati2mtag_M26, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5653&SUBSYS_00701025 ; everything else deleted KR, Martin |

Hello,
Great tool ![]() My video HD2600 I've tried with latest cat.8.8 for XP it did install well, but there were no OpenGL acceleration as it says it is fixed on main tool page Fixed OpenGL problems for the ati2mtag_M76 settings (HD 2600, ... I used an OpenGL test tool which reported that, it falls to software mode with version 1.1 Microsoft Generic Render. Then I've tried with cat.8.7 for XP and OpenGL is ok - acceleration works ![]() Anyway thanks for the great tool again. My laptop model MSI GX610 MSI's provided video driver is a year old

Hi!
Thanks a lot for this great piece of software. Unfortunately I can't get the Mobility Modder V1.1.1.0 to work again. It worked before for me without problems but I just upgraded my hard drive and this time it won't work. My spec is: Dell laptop Inspiron 8600 ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Windows XP Home When I tried to install the new driver the first time on the new hard drive I forgot to install MSXML 6.0 which I guess is why it didn't work the first time. I installed MSXML 6.0 now and tried it again. But every time I start extracting the ATI Mobile Catalyst Update it doesn't stop between extracting files and installation but gives me straight after extracting the files the following message again: “ATI Mobile Catalyst Update Wizard Thank you for your interest in CATALYST. Unfortunately, this software update cannot be installed on your system. Please contact your notebook manufacturer for driver updates.” Can you help? Thanks a lot, Klaus |

If that error message you posted in here is correct you have tried to install the mobile version of the catalyst drivers. They don't work at all. You need to get the normal desktop version of the Catalyst drivers and let the installation extract the driver files and then abort the installation. Then use the mobility modder.net to mod the desktop drivers. After that is done install the desktop drivers that you just modded. |

Mobility Modder v1.1.1.0 Radically broken
I tried running Mobility Modder to install CCC 8.8 on my Toshiba Satellite P200-ST2061. (Intel Memrom T7700, 4 GB DDR2 667, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600, Vista Ultimate 32x SP1.) Installation appeared to go fine; I got an installation sucessful and everything.
Upon reboot, Windows will no longer boot. I get a missing or corrupt Winload.exe message, and the PC restarts. Great bit of code guys; really great. I just hope to sod my Windows recovery disk can repair it, because all other recovery options have failed. |

I have a sony vaio with a 3470 radeon in it. and when i used MM to update to the newest drivers, which is 8.8 desktop version, i checked CCC and for some reason it now shows my video card as a radeon 3450, is that normal? does it affect anything?

That is normal and it wont affect anything. It won't have any performance defect since the driver itself is same for all cards.

I had used the Mobility Modder before (quite successfully, too), when it was around version 0.9 (i think -- long time ago). I decided to update drivers a couple of days ago and saw that a new version of the modder tool was available, and I updated my installation. The new version does not start. it crashes and a message box with "Application Error" in the title comes up saying that "Exception ECException in module MobilityDotNET.exe at 000213BD. {new line} Array cannot be null." (picture of error message below)
![]() I saw someone else post this message in this forum, but that thread went nowhere. Mobility Radeon X600 on an HP Pavilion zd8120cl (not that it matters at this point, since I can't even modify the Catalyst installer program) Windows Vista Ultimate x86 with SP1 (UAC enabled -- tried disabling UAC, rebooting, and trying again, still failed -- not an UAC problem) Re-installed .NET Framework 3.0 (3.5 also installed), problem still occurs In case it was a whole Vista problem, I tried installing and running the tool in my Desktop PC, which runs XP MCE SP3, and the same error came up. I also reinstalled the .NET framework in that PC, to no avail. Windows XP Debugger Output: Code:

If all of this is correct, the only thing necessary to fix the tool is to re-compile it using the 3.0/3.5 framework (Visual Studio 2008 for 3.5 / Visual Studio 2005 for 3.0 --if I googled the right thing)... Hope this helps. Update 2: I set the Mobility Modder shortcut on my laptop's Desktop to run under Windows 2000 Compatibility Mode, and it ran without a problem -- easy enough workaround for Vista users until the real problem is fixed... toshiba satellite p200-1ba notebook
hi!
I have a toshiba satellite p200-1ba notebook with radeon 2600 hd GC. I have recently purchased 4gb ram for my notebook and had the surprise that my graphics card just sucked 1gb ... as i don;t actually min very much that i have now a 1.5 gb graphcis card i would prefer tu use the 1 gb for system and not for graphics as i am not much of a gamer (just World of warcraft ). Anyway, my problems is as follows: i cannot use normal catalyst or some other radeon drivers, i can only use custom drivers found here: Toshiba - Desc?rcare drivere:. I have tried to use the moder on the files that extract from archive, but it did not work, maybe i did smth wrong, maybe not. Anyway, can anyone tell me if the modder will work on custom drivers? Especially toshiba ones? Thanks! |

Re: ATi Mobility Modder v1.1.1.0 Released
Hi
I've found that after installing the modded driver the following registry key should be modified in order OpenGL to work with the latest extensions: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\OpenGLDrivers\ati2dvag the value of 'Dll' was 'atioglx2.dll' so the new value should be 'atioglxx.dll' Doing so I've successfully run the testing OpenGL program and run the demos/test. The program is at GPU Caps Viewer 1.6.0 And one more issue I am detecting:
MSI GX610 / Ati HD2600 / WinXP Pro SP3 32-bit |
