Stuck at 'Analyze'

I'm trying to go backward on my ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650. Theres a major GL_Select issue with the new drivers so I'm trying to step back to the 2007 drivers but I can't get past the 'Analyze' stage. Progress bar on Detecting graphics hardware reaches halfway and no further. It does not report that it has stopped responding.

Using Windows Vista Home Premium on my Toshiba A300 Laptop.

Is there another way I can install the driver without using the setup.exe?

Solved. 8.7 works fine and has actually solved the GL_Select problem for me
