x2500 wrongly identified as 1700
Thanks so much for your awesome tool.
I used the latest modding tool on the 8.8 drivers that just came out. (The first time i've ever used your tool) Its identified my card x2500 card as a 1700. My computer is working fine so far, but I was wondering if this would lead to other problems down the track, such as playing games under performance etc. I also opted out of installing the Catalyst Control Centre, because I always felt like it was a waste of space. Do you recommend installing it if I'm not O/C my card? Thanks alot |

Hi there and welcome to DriverHeaven!
The text in the fields that identifies the cards comes from the driver .inf files and they wont have any effect on the performance of the mobile chip that you have in use. CCC can be used to configure the parameters of the card, like contrast, gamma and brightness etc.. if you aren't wanting to change those settings you are ok. |

It is indeed just the name that shows 1700, the cards use the exact same settings so it is no problem.
