Yesterday i have tried to install latest AMD drivers Catalyst 8.10 to my laptop with Windows XP.
I have used latest version of Mobility Modder v.1.1.1.0. But driver installer failed with error "setup couldn't find the hardware". When i manually set folder where XP must find driver - it was installed normally. After this almost all works fine instead of OpenGL. It is very slow. OpenGL driver version and extensions detected correctly, but just slow. Looks like some bug that was fixed for old Catalyst return back with Catalyst 8.10. And new version of Mobility Modder needed. |

Sorry. OpenGL slow just in some applications.
Doom3, Quake IV and Lightsmark fast enough |

Re: Mobility X1700 and Catalyst 8.10 problem
I will look into this asap. So this problem came with 8.10 and the older versions worked ok?

I didn't used other Catalyst versions with Modder. Only 8.10.
And as i said. I think there is no problems with OpenGL. Because now i use Mobility Catalyst with manually modified INF - and same behavior. Maybe problems in program that i use (mplayer). Only problem is "setup couldn't find the hardware" mesage. |
