HP 8510w Mobility Firegl v5600 & Mobility Modder

Hi,

First - thanks all for your efforts.
I Have a HP 8510w with Mobility FireGL v5600
Windows XP SP3
.Net 1.1 thru 3.5 - All updates

Downloaded latest FireGL Unified driver @:
ATI FireGL™ Unified Driver Version 8.523.1.1 for Windows XP Professional Edition

Uninstalled old HP ATI driver with Driver Cleaner method (great tool, thanks a lot) --- Modified new driver succesfully --- BUT

When I try to install the driver, it goes well until I get a dialogue box that says something along the lines of "this driver does not work with the installed adapters". Does anyone have experience with a similar setup that can help me out and point to the correct/best drivers to be using. HP is really throwing a wrench in the gears for getting this notebook running with the latest software (CAD/engineering).

Thanks again

t

No one has dealt with this situation before? Is there a better place to post this particular problem?

Thanks

Not sure what exactly you mean... The driver I was attempting to use was for the FireGL family - which would work for the desktop version of the cards. Is that what you are referring to? Is that not the correct place to go for the Mobility FireGL series? It's a bit confusing, because ATI does not publish any drivers for Mobility FireGL specifically - the have Mobility Radeon, and FireGL separately. thx

Yeah I mean the normal driver not the special that are made for the desktop FireGL cards.
I mean these drivers : Drivers & Tools | GAME.AMD.COM
