Does OS Window 7 Work?

hi im new to this forum and i am not sure if you guys could help solve my problems.

My old Laptop Acer5500 , My Video Card is Ati x700 and i recently downloaded and installed OS:Window 7 (Microsoft.Windows.7.32Bit.Build.6801) in my C drive. Ive found out i couldnt install the my previous ATI driver ( said something about doesnt Support OS), then after that i searched the web and found and downloaded Catalyst 32-bit Windows 7 Preview Driver from ati.com.

i found out after i have installed the Driver, it didnt work... which finally lead me to this website.

im am a newbie towards computers and hope if you guys would help me step by step, Thanks!!

First of all, welcome to DriverHeaven.

Secondly, Windows 7 isn't even officially released as yet and won't be for about another year. It's presently in the 'testing' stages.

Thirdly, as a newcomer to computers, you should not be trying to use something that's not even finished as yet. There likely won't be drivers available for the devices you're using for quite some time to come. Either that, or the trouble you'll have getting things to work will overtax your knowledge and experience.

Finally, you need to install an official Windows OS...either XP or VISTA and get some experience under your belt before attempting software that's meant for experienced users.

i beleive you MUST HAVE no older then a HD2xxx ATI video card for the windows 7 Preview package..... i beleive it's even stated as such.
