Modding ATI Catalyst beta for Windows 7
Has anybody successfully modded and installed the ATI Catalyst beta for Windows 7 on a laptop?

Re: Modding ATI Catalyst beta for Windows 7
Yep, worked for me with no problems! I have a Mobility Radeon X1400.
The modding took quite a while (well a couple of minutes) but eventually finished and the install of the ATI Catalyst beta for Windows 7 was great - much better than installs on XP etc. That being said, the initial install of Windows 7 automatically installed version 8.31.100.2 for me seamlessly from Windows update and I scored 3.5 WEI on graphics. The version number from the above link seems to be 8.560.1.0 and I scored 3.6 WEI for graphics. I suppose it is worth it!? |

Re: Modding ATI Catalyst beta for Windows 7
Hrmmm. Everything was fine but on a recent restart of Win7 CCC crashed with an error and I seem to have lost my desktop.
That is, the start bar is visible and operational, the desktop background is there and I can right click without problems. I cannot, however, left click and/or drag and there are no icons or Gadgets either. I wonder if it was CCC or something entirely unrelated. Sigh. |
