Installing CCC 9.4 with Mobility Modder

I've used the Mobility Modder to install many CCC versions, until it did not work on one of the 8.x version anymore.

Then Ruud made a fix for the 9.2 version and later, and that worked fine for V9.2, but unfortunately not for V9.3.

I've read what some people have done to get the whole thing working again, and then I had a notion that the problem should be very easy to fix, and so it was.

This is what you can do to install V9.4 on Vista:
  1. Uninstall the old drivers with the Setup.exe in one of the subdirectories of C:\ATI
  2. Use Driver Cleaner to remove all residues from the ATI drivers.
  3. Reboot the PC.
  4. Start the V9.4 installation procedure.
  5. As soon as it wants to setup the drivers, cancel the procedure.
  6. Use Mobility Modder to modify the drivers.
  7. Now locate the LH_INF subdirectory in C:\ATI
  8. In this directory you will find two .inf files
  9. When you open both files, you will notice that only one of them has been modified (read the first line).
  10. Some 40 lines down in this file you will find a line with ; Modded with DH Mobility Modder.NET
  11. From this line downwards there is a block of lines with the names of ATI cards, until there is another line with ; Modded with DH Mobility Modder.NET
  12. Copy this block of lines, and find the similar block of lines in the other .inf file.
  13. Delete this block of lines, and replace it with the block of lines from the first file.
  14. Close both files
  15. Find Setup.exe in one of the ATI subdirectories, and run it. In my case it installed everyting without any warning (except the non-signed warning from windows).
I noticed that in the file that was modified by the Mobility Modder, there is a second area that has been modified. That part is much more complex than the first part, and I haven't been able to analyze yet if it should be copied as well. However so far everything is running fine for my HD2600xt/HD2700 graphics card.
