I have X1xxx Series card. CCC 9.4 onwards pointless?

Hey everyone I'm using a X1700 pro on xp 32 bit just wondering if there is any point getting the new 9.4 CCC as I think i read that the new drivers onwards only support the 2000, 3000 and 4000 ATI series and the last that we poor 1000 series users can use is the 9.3 drivers (which in my case gives me an error).

yeah.. i wouldn't bother trying it...

i have't tried to "force" it on any of the x1xxx series i've got here yet

oh well that sucks

I tried adding all the info to 9.4 from 9.3 but no luck. It tries to install (manually) but at the end the driver can't start. Oh well...

Yep, I figured that too, while trying to install 9.4 for my Mobility FireGL5200 (X1600 based) 9.4 is a no-go.
I modded 9.3 now and am happily running it on Win7 Build 7077 x86.

If I recall well, CatalystMaker said that once every three months there will be a driver release that supports X1000 series cards.
