HD 3470 is 3450?
Well since I fail at searching I didn't found anything so I made a topic.
The stickers on my laptop (Asus m51se) says that it has a Ati Radeon 3470 but after I updated the drivers with the mobility modder tool it says that it's a Ati Radeon 3450... So do I have the wrong drivers now or is it some weird glitch? |

Re: HD 3470 is 3450?
I also faced the same problem. I have a Toshiba Satellite A300-203 with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470, and after modding Catalyst 9.5 drivers with MobilityModder it says it is a 3450.
What's more, I can't play Counter Strike 1.6 (quite old game... don't make me believe I can't play it) and I can't get into neither D3D nor OpenGL mode with 1280x800, only allowed D3D up to 1024x768. Can anyone give a solution? Thanks |

Don't worry about it, they only differ by core clocks.

If you have trouble finding your full device ID, trying adding following lines to config files after removing existing ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 & HD 3470 entries: "ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 3450" = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C9 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470" = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_01381025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_013B1025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_011F1025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_01491025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_013F1025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_011E1025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_013C1025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_013E1025 "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 " = ati2mtag_M72, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_95C4&SUBSYS_01211025 Installing drivers from Device Manager sometimes helps as well. Good luck - Richard Last edited by richardhula; Jun 14, 2009 at 02:39 PM. |

Re: HD 3470 is 3450?
Hi, I have the same problem on ASUS M51se laptop with ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3470 & Vista Ultimate 32bit.
After updating the driver using Mobility Modder HD 3470 appears as HD 3450. I refreshed the rating in the vista experience index there was no change in the score, so hopefully no performance change. Annoying but seems to be more stable that the old and very buggy drivers provided by ASUS and available throgh windows updater. I looked at richardhula's posts about changing 3450 to 3470 but it's a bit beyond me. Does anyone have a simpler way, or more detailed directions, for changing the device name? |
