Mobility Radeon HD 2400 BLACK SCREEN

Well i tried to update my driver via the Mobility Modder software. Done the stepp by step guide, i downloaded the original driver for desktop HD 2400 (pciE) from ATI site (pciE was the only option avaiable for HD 2400). I Extracted the driver, cancelled the instalation and proceeded the modding as told on the step by step guide. It run okay to this point, but when i rebooted my pc i got a black screen. Had to turn it of and return to tha last valid configuration to appear anything, but it reverted to the old driver. How can i update now my card and avoid the black screen?
Im using windows xp professional, 2gb of RAM, Core 2 duo T5550 1,83Ghz, Mobility Radeon HD 2400 (M72) 128Mb ram.
