Ahh, I missed/didn't realize yours was switchable. If thats the case thenaccording to the readme pdf your right. You could go to strags.com, I noticed there is a "basic driver installation guide" link and you might also be able to ask em a question if you go to irc.aimless.us #fix . The link takes you to a web based version of IRC log in and then it will take you to the correct channel right away.

The mobility 5870 driver package doesnt install on my M17x. I can force it to install the driver by using the device manager, but that is not an optimum solution as it does not make the catalyst control center available.

edit: Also not the best solution as when I do it that way the resolution does not go as high as it should. Native resolution should be 1440x900 but with the workaround in place I can only go as high as 1152x864.

For people left out in the cold by their OEM manufacturer, Robin Hood has your 10.6 fix. They work great on my Toshiba Satellite (HD 2600). I would wait a few weeks for 10.7 at this point however.

That is entirely up to you. Catalyst team in general is having driving issues as of late; most of the drivers I have tried on my HD 5970 have been a gamble. I know it took about 8 releases for my HD 4870x2 to work properly, so I should be in good shape soon.

Hello, the current version of the tool says it supports "ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 2300", but I've been having troubles getting the driver to even start installing.

yes it is but you need to mod not the classic catalyst driver, but the mobility one

I have its in my notebook HP Probook 6540b and my son have a problem with PC games (OpenGL is not founded). Can I use DH Mobility Modder ?

I believe that HP notebooks use the standard mobility driver... go to Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD and on the right select Notebook Driver>HD4000 series> then your Operating System.

Download the driver tool, then the driver. Install and you should be fixed.

Yes , you are right. I use the standard mobility driver from this site and from HP support pages too. But I have a problem with OpenGL in PC Games. I think that these drivers does not support OpenGL. That´s way I am looking for other solutions. I understood that DH Mobility Modder can help me because it can instal standard driver on my PC, not only mobility on. And I understood that differnce between standard and mobility driver is in support OpenGl. It is right or not ?

As far as I am aware, the Mobility driver should also update any AMD related OpenGL files. I think you should post a thread in the driver forum saying what the game is, what you OS is and what the exact error is.

Help - I used this on a t42 with Ati mobility radeon 9600.

Now after I log on (if I leave the laptop to cool (?) for some time) and after little time the screen goes as if wind blows through it and I have to cold reboot.
Does this mean that my GPU is fried ?
What changes are made in the BIOS ?
I disabled the ATI once I managed to keep the thing going for I couple of mins (via the device manager) but on rebooting I had the "wind effect" just on the IBM boot screen (before windows)

Hello. I have a problem with hd4530. On the amd website, i can not download the driver for winxp, it sends me on hp website, where there is no support for my pc on win xp, hp pavilion dv6 - 1205sf. I did the ''downgrade'' from vista home edition to win xp pro sp3. Can anyone help me? I have downloaded the vista driver and used it with the modder, but it did not solve the problem. I get an error saying that the installer can not start. Please help!!!
