Re: Resolution problem Ati x 1400

You need to select the middle option. It should resize the lower resolutions to full screen.

Re: Resolution problem Ati x 1400

I don't think you understand what i'm saying i set the option but ,the screen when i'm playing a game still has the black bars and when i go check the option is back like in the screen shot above in my first post ... so this is a bug in CCC not my fault.I'm not using computer for first time and i know that CCC was working in my previous versions when i was installing it but here on win 7 x 64 something is wrong

Note: AMD’s DirectX 9 ATI Radeon graphics accelerators are not officially supported under Windows 7. If the user chooses to, they can install the ATI Catalyst Windows Vista graphics driver under Windows 7. Please be aware that none of the new Windows 7 graphics driver (WDDM 1.1) features are supported (as the Windows Vista level graphics driver is limited to WDDM 1.0 level support). Using the ATI Catalyst Windows Vista driver under Windows 7 is not officially supported by AMD, and as such AMD will not provide any form of customer support for users running in this configuration
That might explain why you are having problems... It might be driver level feature that won't work on that WDDM 1.0 level...

Re: Resolution problem Ati x 1400

I am also having the same issue with Windows 7 with the same setup and it is very frustrating. In my case, I've modded both the 9.3 driver and the 9.8 driver, and I'm not getting the option to Maintain Aspect ratio on the panel in either (using the advanced settings). It used to show, but it doesn't in 7. Also, when I set my resolution to less than 1680x1050 in Windows, it gives me borders around the entire screen - it does not stretch it, even though it is set to in the BIOS. Outside of Windows (ie the BIOS) it does stretch to fill the screen. Again, this was working perfectly in XP and Vista. I wonder if there's something about the driver that isn't getting the right info on the panel...

Try to change or force different refresh rate for your laptop.
Try to uninstall all ATI components, then do fresh installation of latest ATI driver.
Good luck.

Re: Resolution problem Ati x 1400

same here. I have mobility x1350 (LG Z1-P515GL laptop) and exact same problem is happening.
It seems to be modded drivers (or catalyst) are encountering this problem
changing aspect ratio worked fine with crappy 8.3 driver what LG gave me before. so..

I think its happening because we basically modded 'desktop' drivers to be installed into laptop graphic chips.
Desktop catalysts does not support laptop panel aspect ratio settings.. or something like that i guess.

I rolled back to my LG driver. Which sucks a lot...

Re: Resolution problem Ati x 1400

Hi
Unfortunately you can’t do anything. I had the same problem. I’ve tried drivers from 9.2 to 9.11 on my Mobility FireGL v5200 and friend Mobility Radeon X1600.
It seems like older graphics chips (X series) doesn’t work well on Windows 7. In desktop everything is fine but in games ...... After decreasing resolution you’ll get smaller screen. I’ve tried many things, but nothing work. I had to back to Vista system. Maybe you should do it to.
ATI should release new drivers for legacy graphics cards for Windows 7.
