Acer Extensa 5620G + ATI Mobility Radeon 2400XT + Catalyst 9.11 = No go
Hello! It's my first post
![]() Anyway, I have a Acer Extensa 5620G laptop with a ATI Mobility Radeon 2400 XT graphics card(running Windows XP SP3). Older 8.xx versions worked great with it(modded drivers of course). However, when I tried to install 9.11(with this new installation manager), everything looked almost great with one exception - drivers could not be installed because they were unsigned(this was said at the end of the installation). I tried turning off the check for signed drivers in Windows XP but that did not have any effect. Do you guys have some advice? EDIT: I managed to install Catalyst 9.1 with drivers, but it's using the old setup(not the new install manager). Last edited by ToJa92; Nov 20, 2009 at 04:36 PM. |

Re: Acer laptop + ATI Mobility card + Catalyst 9.11 = No go
Uninstall everything that have with ATI to do, reboot, remove 'ATI' and 'ATI Technologies' folder in your program folder, go to C:\Windows\System32\, find a bunch of files named ati<some random letters here> and remove them all. Check you're removing the right ones. Only files with ati in the name should be removed. After this, do a reboot again, then install a older hacked version and reboot and thats it. Removing those "ati<some random letters here>" is probably not necessary as they are probably replaced with older versions when you install the older version.

I tried installing 9.11 but its a new installer and it doesen't work as described above so I just got 9.1 but I'm hoping there's a fix for 9.11

I'm getting the same problem; the 9.11 driver fails to install, the log cites 'Driver Install: the driver package is not signed' as the error.
Currently running Acer TravelMate 7720G, Windows XP SP3, Mobility Radeon HD 2600 with Catalyst 9.2. |

Seems to work, except I cant open CCC. Yes I've tried running the restart runtime tool but it wont work anyway.
