Sony Vaio and Cat. 10.9

I have a sony vaio fw390 with a mobility HD 3600 series card in it.
I have been looking around and as i can tell the only way to get a driver is to go to the sony website and get the OEM version.

my question is with Cat 10.9 out for basically every computer but sony should i download that and modify it to work on my computer?

And i also read that the modder isnt even working on anything 10.2 up is that true?

try catalyst mobility 10.5, if not working, try 9.6 mainboard driver, and modify with catalyst modder.
