ATI Mobility Radeon HD2300 Win7 drivers beyond 9.3?

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here because I stumbled upon this site looking for fresher Windows 7 64 bit drivers for my Gateway E475m laptop which has the Radeon HD 2300 graphics chip. The built-in Win7 drivers are OK but only give me a 3.7 rating. They're from April 2009 so I thought maybe fresher drivers would help.

I see the ATI/AMD Catalyst drivers (by themselves) do not support the HD2300 and haven't in quite some time but I found the Modder which I tried on Version 9.3 (Feb 09) and was successful in getting them to work but the rating is still at 3.7 (game graphics actually dropped to 3.6). So, I tried modding different versions between 9.4 and 12.1 to no avail. Also, the Modder itself is aging and doesn't seem to work beyond 10.something. I usually get the generic error 43 (hardware encountered a problem) error message on the drivers the Modder will attempt to add the HD2300 to.

At this point, I seem to have reached a dead end and wonder if anyone else with the HD2300 has managed to get fresher drivers besides Feb/Apr 09 on their laptops, or is this a hopeless situation?? If so, I'm all ears as to where to go for drivers. Thanks! Doug
