You asked this also in the driver cleaner 2 thread and i answered this:
What you mean you run Driver Cleaner 1st and than add/remove through the control panel? So i mean did you follow the steps in the readme, because if you did than you can't run into problems. Those steps has been tested over and over.

reboot into safe mode run driver cleaner in safe mode. reboot to windows. disable antiviras. install drivers. that has always been my method. you ran dc before removing drivers means windows hasn't fully removed so it will either think it is still there but cannot be found. smart restore back to a state were they were last worked,if no help.it might look as though there could be a need to reinstall windows to recover. |

I have the same problem ...only I did not go into safe mode. Now I can not install any nvidia drivers and the video/monitor tabs are missing from the device manager. Can you please provide me with a fix?
Thank you for your support, Spy

I'm not trying to dog this program (because I like it) but it does have a serious flaw if you do not follow the steps exactly.
Here is how I fixed the problem. 1. click on start and go "help and Support". 2. At the top left in search type "system restore, click green arrow". 3. Click on "Run system restore Wizard". 4. Select "restore my system to a earlier time, the click next". 5. Select a prior date (like the previous day), click next. 6. You will see a bunch of writing in "red" just click next. 7. Click next again and you system will be restored!!! Again this a good program but it does have a SERIOUS FLAW when the directions are not followed exactly. If I could offer a recommendation it be to fix and make the program more dummy proof for people like me.

Yep. The steps are included to make it dummy proof. So there is NO SERIOUS FLAW in it. If you follow the steps than nothing can go wrong. But it is most times that people are too lazy to read the readme or the help file. So no i can't make it more dummy proof, because it allready is. Just follow the steps and all is ok.

Yep everybody has an opinion, but my program has no flaw in it. People just need to follow the steps and i didn't include them for nothing. Also driver removal is not simple windows protects all his files so in normal mode you can't do it right. So if people don't follow the steps it is possible than that they run into problems. Especially with nvidia drivers.
Also i can't make it more dummy proof, because than i have to reprogram windows so that it doesn't do so difficult with files and such.

All most all problems reported about ( any ) non-beta software are due to user error. If you would read the simple instuctions included with DriverCleaner, you would see that there is no 'serious flaws' in this program. If you had read and followed the instructions at all, then you might have a valid reason to say this. Please read the instuctions included with this software ( as you should all software ) before using it.
