I used driver cleaner after uninstalling omega 3.8, then installed the 2496a omegas. After reboot, all I get is a black screen from boot screen on, but I can hear windows load in the background. So booted to safe mode and uninstalled, then back to regular mode and installed the ATI 3.8s, reboot=same problem. I have done this several times and cannot get any driver to work. Please help (spike maybe?) as games dont like to play with vga drivers.

How did you uninstall the drivers and where did you run driver cleaner? I mean did you do it in normal mode or safe mode?
Also i will look into it, will get back to you.

First things first, thanks for writing this program and I certainly know the problem is on my end, and not with your software. Let me know the usual donation and I will try to fit it in my budget (Best Buy doesnt pay very well though).
I uninstalled the drivers via add/remove, then I think I am a retard because i ran DC2 in normal mode. Thats probably the problem, was just wondering if you knew of a fix because I hate reinstalling windows. Exactly what would cause what I am experiencing? I guess the files were in use when I cleaned them, but after installing new drivers, wouldnt that take care of it? or will DC2 clean things it normally wouldnt if I run it in normal mode? Sorry Im a jacka$$ that doesnt read "readME"s, ironic isnt it? |

Dont know how but I got it fixed. Flashed to a built by ati bios 8004 (had been a newer hercules bios that came with the card), then installed omega 3.5s. This didnt quite fix it though as it still gave me a black screen after logon, so I hit {windows key}+L to logout, which brought my screen back to the logon screen. Then after I rebooted it miraculously worked! Everything seems back to normal, running omega 3.8b now without a problem. One weird thing though, when I was having all these problems, I was even getting errors in bios where every font letter was switched with the previous one, i.e. 2 became 1, b became a, and so on. Ever seen anything like that?

I have never seen anything, could be that something in the bios made it not working. I am glad it all is fixed. I was allready thinking and couldn't think of how to fix it. I never heard anything like this with ati cards. I do have heard it with nvidia cards and am still looking in it, but it is the wierdest thing i ever saw with nvidia cards.
So that is why i didn't understand that ati driver got into the same problem. Guess it was indeed some bios problem.
