@riles9262 Yes you can get the driver.cab from the xp cd. Also i have the feeling that when the program freezed it didn't make a new cab. So the cab is maybe gone. Also the device failures are not because of the cab file. I think the videocard is not ok. Maybe it doesn't get enough power from the psu or it is broken. Look at the card and if you have warranty than send it back.

@MEABeemer Did you also tried to use the ATI - Software Uninstall Utility? If so than did you tried to unstall the control panel and driver seperate in the add/remove panel?

Newbie Question

If I am connected to the internet with an always on broadband connection, how do I make it not connect to the internet? I am referring to the instructions that say to not let Windows connect to the internet and download drivers.

Ken

@klf: Now you have a network card in the pc and on the outside there goes and utp cable in. Just get the cable out and it is disconnected.

Another way that is very convenient, is to go into start/ network connection/ local area connection/ then right click, and hit disable.

Or you could just double click on it and hit the disable button. Working with a firewall and driver installation and whatnot, I have actually created a shortcut by right clicking on local area connection, and selecting "create shortcut", then putting that shortcut in my shortcuts toolbar (or you could just put it on your desktop, or wherever),

-then when I want to do something without my firewall on, or without being connected to the internet (driver installation, benching, single player games, any time my firewall is not running, etc..) I just click on the shortcut and disable it, then when I want to enable it again, I just click the shortcut and it automatically enables the connection. Very convenient.

Pissed

I have tried everything to get rid of this. I had hopes that Driver Cleaner 2.7 would do the trick, all I got was another entry. This if pasted from DXDiag.txt file:
