Driver Cleaner Huge Problem...(Monitor Black in windows)

Hello,

::::::Long Story::::::

I just bought a radeon 9800 xt today, my previous card is a GeForce 4 ti4600. In Preperation to install the 9800 xt I uninstalled the nvidia display drivers with add/remove programs and rebooted, then used nvidia nasty file remover from guru3d and shut down. Removed the geforce, popped in the 9800xt. Booted up everything is fine except windows wants 2 nvidia .dlls for whatever the nvidia task manager program was in the task bar.

So, I installed the ATI drivers off the disk rebooted, installed CAT 3.10s, rebooted, then continued to play BF1942 in bliss for a couple hrs at 100fps. I turned my comp off went out for awhile, turned it back on. the .dll errors for windows asking for the nvidia crap started to piss me off. So I browsed over to your nice site and found driver cleaner, installed it, selected nvidia, and pressed clean. It cleaned a whole bunch of programs, windows came up with some message box about the missing nvidia system files and asked me for something but nothing specific, like when a system ddriver is missing for old windows 98, "please insert the windows 98 cd" but this said: please insert into your (ie: it asked for nothing) And it also asked me to reboot, so I did, I SAW the post screen, now, when it gets into windows the sounds play and everything but its a totally black screen and the monitor light is blinking. I rebooted a couple times, and now going to try a cold reboot. But I think the problem is from something the cleaner removed I was using 52.16 nvidia drivers btw. (On boot up I can see the Windows XP loading screen just before it goes into windows)

:::::Short Story:::::

* Just got 9800xt
* Uninstalled geforce 4 drivers etc.. rebooted, used nasty file remover shut down
* Put in 9800xt
* (2 nvidia dll errors) installed ati drivers rebooted
* installed cat 3.10 rebooted
* Played bf1942 2 hrs shut down went out
* turned on, dll errors pissed me off, used cleaner, got stange windows error after cleaning. rebooted
* See post screen, comp continues to boot up, black screen and monitor led blinking when in windows.

If any one can help me please, I would really appreciate it.

*EDIT* Ive got it working in safe mode...but now What?!!

Heres the comp specs:
Windows XP +SP1+Latest updates
Intel 3ghz 800fsb
Abit IC7-G
Dual 80 Gig HDs
1gig of corsair ddr500
Radeon 9800xt

System Specs

Ok great that you have it working. I think it was because you use Driver Cleaner after you allready installed the new drivers for the 9800. The best was uninstall GF4 drivers than run DC and than install 9800 drivers.
