Driverheaven - Driver Cleaner 3.0

Does the Creative Audio Lite cleaning file beta clean out all remnants of my Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer sound card driver?...which one do i choose in the drop down menu--Creative Audio or Creative Audio Lite?...whats the difference between the 2?...does it work the same as the video card driver removal?...does this only work for Creative brand drivers or any sound card driver manufacturer?

OK, so... If I install the latest Omega drivers, and select the ATI cleaner, will it remove the Omegas completely? Or is there a separate tool for removing the Omegas?

@phantommenace2 the difference between the 2 creative audio cleaning files is the the lite only removes the drivers. The other cleans all so also like creative programs. Yes it will clean all the remainings from the creative audio card drivers. It works the same as the videocard removal. It works for other brand drivers also, but the cards must be like the creative cards. So for example you have a Audigy card and you have compaq drivers by it than the cleaning file will work also with like HP driver, Dell drivers and more.

@JJohnson1988 you can select the ATI cleaning file and it will remove the omega drivers also.

Also for JJohnson1988---the Omega drivers have their own version of Driver Cleaner..it's in the "Programs" menu under "Radeon Omega Drivers"...it's called Driver Cleaner (Omega Edition)

Hello

I have used Driver Cleaner several times now and enjoy its simplicity. Should it be okay to use it with the Omega Catalyst Drivers too or only with Ati Catalyst dirvers? I have got some weird things happening to the resolutions of game menu screens and I have just installed Omega 4.4 after using Driver Cleaner 3.

@euanemblin you can use it also with the omega drivers. Just use the same steps, like uninstall it from the control panel and so on. That will work.

Hey Spike how come you never tell people to just use the version of Driver Cleaner that comes bundled with the Omega drivers itself?...wouldn't that be easier then downloading the stand alone Driver Cleaner version 3.0?

Yes that can also be used, but i don't know when you uninstall the omega drivers if it also removes that version of driver cleaner version that comes with the omega releases. Also most times people ask if the can use Driver Cleaner 3 with them so i say yes, guess a lot of people have it.

I tried to follow the readme file for cleaning the drivers up, but one thing I cannot get my computer to do is boot with safe mode on. When I hit F8, I get my boot menu (ie. boot from cd-rom, A drive, or hard drive.) Is there another way to make safe mode start? The clean up makes my card run smoother than silk heh, I can't wait to use it.

The clean up removes things that are left behind and that can indeed help make it run better and can prevent that errors like blue screens and such.

The go into safe mode you have to press F8 after that first screen where you can see like bios things and memory counting and hd/cd drive checking. So that would be right after the 1st boot screen and before you get either the 1st windows xp screen or 98 screen.

Most time you will see a table in dos where you can see things from the pc like memory installed and irq things.
