Here is new release of Driver Cleaner. There are fixes and improvements in this version.
Below you find a list of the things that are changed since 3.1:

Improved:

- Creative Audio cleaning file
- Creative Audio Lite cleaning file
- File Backup Routine
- Code Optimized and Rewritten

Added:
- Intel Extreme cleaning file beta
- ATI Remote Wonder cleaning file beta
- Backup Functions to the Wizard

Fixed:
- Bug in Registry Backup
- Bug in Full Registry Backup
- When cleaning drop down box disabled

Read the Readme.

IMPORTANT: uninstall the older version first before you install this version.

For uninstalling nVidia drivers i recommend putting the backup functions on and the full registry backup on. If something goes wrong you can restore it. Also if you get an error with installing new drivers, please send me the directories in the backup folder, so i can check and locate the problem than. Or mail me if you want to ask more how to send it, but don't use the restore before you sended it.

It is for nVidia, ATI, Creative, Turtle Beach, SIS Graphics and 3Dfx. It will remove anything that is left by the drivers after uninstall.

Well I've used driver cleaner for a long time now and this has happened with none of the other cleaning options, but when ever I use the main ATI option and hit clean it will clean/delete all the files, but it will hang. Everything works and I am able to change to a different cleaning option except I am not able to hit the clean button for quite awhile until it all of a sudden comes back.

does it say under the dropdown list than like cleaning finished? when it sort of hangs? do you also run it in safe mode? Because when it is done with the files and ddirectories it still has to search the registry and by a lot of the others it doesn't have to do that.

Ah I never knew the cleaner went through the registry. That's probably what it was doing as when this happened it didn't say cleanign finsihed, but I just assumed it was hanging as I thought it only deleted dirs/files. Well when I reinstall my drivs the next time I will check into it a bit more.

Hi

I have just registered as I am interested in using Driver Cleaner because I have the same problem (black and white video) as discussed here

which led me to Driver Cleaner.


I have downloaded Driver Cleaner but would like to know if I should tick the Nvidia Fix box during installation. (I have a GeForce 2 MX200 card on Win98se system). What is the Nvidia Fix?

(Apologies if I am posting in the wrong place but I have spent nearly a day trying to recover the colour when using Windows Media Player 9, whilst maintaining hardware acceleration. I've tried everything and Driver Cleaner is my last hope I think. I haven't had time to study your forums to see if my question should be elsewhere)

The nvidia fix is for the newest drivers. Some people had problems with uninstalling new drivers and when they had they can run that program and that most times fixes it. So you can let it install Nvidia Fix, because it is a seperate program by Driver Cleaner. It does not change anything by install.

There is a version by the omega install, but you can also use Driver Cleaner and select ATI that is the same.

basically question.. does DC work with all moddet ATi Catalyst-based drivers such as NGO, DNA, Unian, Hybrid, Spirit.. ? Is this been tested by anyone?

It has not been tested with all of them, but it should work.

But.. do you have a list of drivers, that definetly work with the DC? How about the DNA Driver?

Now the ones that are tested for sure are like Omega and ATi, but like DNA and others are based on the ati driver so there should be no problem, because i did nothing special on the ati cleaning file to let it work on omega drivers. So you can use it on others also.

Silent Install is allready in the installers. Just add /S behind the exe. Make sure you use a capital S.
