Driver Cleaner and Cab Cleaner

Just looking for a bit of information as to what these two programs are actually doing.

First with Cab Driver, I'm assuming that there are drivers packed in drivers.cab, now what is the program doing when it's unpacking and removing and repacking?

Also I noticed that there are other .cabs, such as SP1, Sp2 and so on. I cleaned both drivers.cab and sp1.cab since I'm using windows XP SP1, now when I get SP2 will I have to clean sp2.cab as well? What do the other two do, SP3,SP4.

After I clean these files do I have to do it everytime I change drivers or are they cleaned for good?

Now with Driver Cleaner I noticed other products listed. Could I use this same program with my sound card drivers or my motherboard? I have a Audigy MP3+ and a gigabyte 7VTHX+.

After I used the program there was nothing in my recycling bin. I did have the backup option on, because I have an Nvidia gf3 ti500, and I'm guessing that's why there was nothing in the recycling bin but I'd just like to make sure everything was working correctly.

I'll add any other questions as I come to them. Hope to read a response, thanks.

Abour Cab Cleaner. There are indeed drivers in the Driver.cab and SP*.cab. The programs unpacks them removes the ATI and nVidia drivers and than repacks them back.

When you install SP2 it is best to clean the sp2.cab also. The other files are there for when there will be next service packs or for other windows versions when they have those sp*.cab files.

After cleaning the files you don't have to do it again. They are cleaned for good.

Yes you can use Driver Cleaner also with other drivers. Just see if they are listed in the list and you can use it. If something is not in there you can always request it.

When Driver Cleaner cleanes the files it deletes them and don't put them in the Recycle Bin.
