Driver Cleaner 3.3 and Windows 98?

Hello,

as requested, I tell you about the following problem by mail.

Recently, I downloaded Driver Cleaner 3.3 from the link on the
Driverheaven.net website.
The install went without any errors but I am not able to start
Driver Cleaner 3.3.
Every time I double click the Driver Cleaner icon the hourglass
pointer appears for a piece of a second, then the mouse pointer
changes back to normal without Driver Cleaner or error messages
being displayed.

I am running the following system:

Athlon XP 2600+
ASUS A7V333-X
1024 MB DDRAM PC-333
Connect 3D ATi Radeon 9600 graphics card with Catalyst driver
4.10 installed (it also did not work with Catalyst 4.7)
SoundBlaster PCI-512
Logitech serial mouse with MouseWare 6.74 installed
Windows 98 Second Edition

What is wrong here? Is there a misconfiguration on my system or
does Driver Cleaner not support Windows 98 any more, in
contrast to the statement on its download page?

Please help.
