??? Just need a wee bit of help with DC 3.3

Hi everyone, im new to DH forums so i hope u guys can help me out

Ok well ive got DC 3.3 and ive basicly ran this program b4 but i never have the right feeling if its done the job correctly. so basicly i just need a few more pointers just to make sure im doing everything right.

Ok..i can follow most of the steps from 2 to 4. except for step 5 where u navigate to device manager find display adapter and highlight NVIDIA and click remove or delete (something like that) but i dunno how u can do that since uve un-installed ur display driver..

Basicly ive followed all most of the instructions on the read me..and it says that there should be files or other stuff in ur recycle bin, but everytime i cleaned out my 'nvidia' folder i get nothing in my recycle bin, so i presume ive done this wrong..sorry for my slowness . and my last question is i cant find the backup functions in the option box..i find the word backup alot but not functions after it. i hope that made sence..O and last 1 sorry again..um when i run cab cleaner i clean driver.cab one right?

Well thats my problem atm..so if u guys can help me fix this ill really really appreciate it..

Thx again everyone!

Hi,

Point 5 is not always needed. It is only needed when windows would install new drivers before you could cancel that.

I called all the backup things togheter backup functions. So it is more that if you want it that you should enable the backup things like Backup Deleted Registry, Backup Deleted Directories and Backup Deleted Files. That are the 3 main backup functions.

About the recycle bin, i think i must change that in the readme, because it is possible that there are files in there but not always.

About Cab Cleaner, yes you should clean driver.cab and also sp1.cab or sp2.cab if they are installed. The file names displayed in the dropdown box are installed.

You only need to clean the cab files 1 time. When you clean them it will not have any affect on the hardware, because it will only remove the ati and nvidia display drivers out of it.

Well after doing this last night..i went into cab cleaner and tried to clean out my driver.cab but it came up with an error and when i clicked dont send..it went out of the program, so i think i will have a bit of trouble cleaning out that particular one. So i dont clean out the Nvidia file? just driver.cab and sp1.cab.

thank u again!

Now than you don't clean the driver.cab. You can still clean with Driver Cleaner with nVidia filter.

Well this is what ive done:
I uninstall my VGA drivers through control panel
rebooted, then booted into safe mode
Ran driver cleaner, i enabled all the backup functions.
Went into cab cleaner, cleaned out SP1.cab but couldnt clean out driver.cab becuase that resulted in crashing. After cleaning SP1.cab i click Nvidia and cleaned the entire Nvidia Folder out. then Rebooted into normal windows. Installed drivers REBOOTED again and changed resolution and all.

Is that a successful driver cleaner? or have i missed out on something.
thx spike

Yes that is a good way. That is also how the steps describe it, so you did it good.

Well i formatted my PC now and i was wondering now if driver.cab would work this time instead of crashing the program. so ill try it out tomorrow and see how that goes.

OK Aiden. It should work normally. So hope it goes ok now. What you can do is make a copy of the file and put it somewhere else.
