3d files missing

i`ve been using the dh ati file version 4.11 tool for a few days and i noticed that the files ati3d1ag.dll and ati3d2ag.dll are not present in my system.does anyone know why?it doesn`t make any sense cuz all the games are running fast and smooth.help!!

What OS do you have? and when you do a search for them on your pc will it find them and if so where are they than?

my os is the windowsxp sp2.i did search for them i even reinstalled the video drivers but nothing.can u tell me what kind of files they are and do u know if i might have any problems later cuz so far everything is ok.

Same thing used to happen to me. I think there associated with Directx. I used to use the driver and cab cleaner and I'm thinking it did too good of a job cleaning everything out for me. Reinstall Directx and you might have to reinstall ATI drivers. I'm not for sure how I did it to get those particular files back but I think that was the way.

I know tha the file ati3d2ag.dll is not always there. I also don't have that on my pc, but the files are ati driver related. Maybe they are not needed by every card.

i just checked and the file ati3d2ag.dll has this as description in file properties:

Radeon (R200 Family) Windows XP DirectDraw/Direct3D Universal Driver

and the file ati3d1ag.dll has this:

Radeon (R100 Family) Windows XP DirectDraw/Direct3D Universal Driver

i have them both in my sp2.cab file in C:\windows\Driver Cache\i386
i think they are some windows-default drivers...

Thanx M_A_D that explains it, when you have a 9700Pro or higher they are not needed, because that is an R3xx.
