Omegea Drivers Threshold option
In the latest ATI omega drivers you get this option and its called "Threshold" i was wondering does any one know what does this option do?? Its at 96 right and i can make the number higher or lower and one more question the peformance bios how to go i get to my bios to change those options to the one he has on his site Thanks (sorry i am a newb with drivers)

Its cap in temperal AA and when your fps drops below 96fps or wah ever u have it set at it automaticly goes back to normal AA.

I don't currently have a Radeon card to check myself, but if the default value is set at 96 then it's probably a data mismatch and should be 60. (60HEX=96DEC) If left at 96 the threshold would make TAA disabled in most situations, so change it to 60 or so whenever you plan to use TAA.

How about setting it to 0? Will it enable TAA despite the framerate?

Yes, a value of 0 would enable the TAA effect at all framerates. But if the game framerate would then dip very low then you would get very strong flickering of the antialiased edges.
Btw I'm now back on a Radeon card and the value is 96 by default in the latest Omegas. Probably just a mixup between hexadecimal and decimal numericals. |
