This is the first time I post something on this site, after hours of web surfing, it seems that this forum is the only place where I might get the proper answers!

First thanks to all the contributors and Patje for having produced such a needed mod, ATI should seriously consider putting you on official pay role!!!

I have a PackardBell lapto - R8720 easynote with an ATI mobility 9600/9700 card.

I am desesperate to update it with newer catalyst driver (may be the 5.5) and I am trying to do so thanks to the mobility mod 2.2.

Unfortunately, when using the mod, I am unable to point out the C./ATI folder since, it does not seems to exist on my hard drive!!! (I have searched all the C: drive (unique drive) for hidden files with no success).
After investigation, I discovered a hidden FAT partition of 4Gb, that I cannot access from the mod tool. I am assuming that the drivers are stored are stored in this partition.

Could anyone tell me if it is something normal for laptop manufacturer to do such a thing?
Is there any workaround so that I can still run the mod and install the cat5.5?

i think you forgot to extract the 5.5 catalyst set before you start the modtool.

Download the catalyst file, and install it, then it will create the c:\ati folder with all files.
The setup however will not finish but quit. then start the modtool.

That should do it, and welcome to DH

and you're right, ATI should put me on a pay roll hehe

Finally I have my laptop up and running with last catalyst version and I ca nplay KOTOR2
