No uninstall for Creative drivers
Hey All,
I want to uninstall the incorrectly installed Creative drivers (i installed drivers for Live! that support only 4 speakers, but I need to install for Live! 5.1 to enable 5.1 speakers I have). To proceed correctly with Driver Cleaner, it is said to uninstall the drivers first. However, I don't have any link to uninstall the Creative drivers from. It is not on the Add/Remove menu, nor in the Start Menu in the Creative folder. How should I uninstall the Creative drivers? My system - Win XP pro, service pack 2; Drivers installed - Creative Sound Blaster Live! - LiveDrvUni-Pack (English), SBLW-XPWEB-W4-US Any help would be highly appreciated. |

Check for entries like "Sound blaster Live" and "Creative ...." to see if you can uninstall it from Control panel. Otherwise, you should be able to use your CD to uninstall them (Remove option).

Bruuss most times when you run setup again, you get the option to uninstall the drivers. See if you can do that.

Thank you for your solutions.
I managed to uninstall the drivers and further to clean all of them with the Cleaner, but finally it turned out to be unnecessary. Most obviously, the problem was my Soundblaster Live! soundcard, it's model is CT4830. As far as I have understood, it doesn't support 5.1 sound. And the drivers won't help. Am I right? Thanks. |

NO, thats the original soundblaster Live!..it is not a 5.1 model. Only 4 channel. But it still contains a 10KX DSP..so it'll sound pretty good..but you only get Quadrophonic. hope that helps.
