Hello PlayerWon and Patje,
I've got the same problem using an ASUS W2VC laptop (ATI X700 Mobility - PCI Express) running Windows XP Pro SP2. I've just installed the ATI Catalyst 5.10 including CCC with DHMod 3 and the resolution is okay. But I don't have any icon to access the ATI CCC. I'm gona check if the Microsoft .NET Framework is installed by default with SP2 (component required for ATI CCC). FYI, I need to access to the CCC setings to setup the Overlay function. OK,
This is what you have to do. uninstall any ATI Driver install Microsoft .Net Framework v1.1 (component required for ATI CCC) Do not install .NET FrameWork v2.0 beta !!! install Microsoft .Net Framework SP 1 install ATI Catalyst driver using DHModTool v.3 To install ATI CCC launch SETUP.EXE from: C:\ATI\SUPPORT\5-10_xp-2k_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_27256\ACE Regards |

can you tell me what catalyst file u used? u did use the desktop drivers, not the mobility drivers right?
Also, you can try ATI's mobile drivers without the use of the modtool: http://www.ati.com/online/mobilecatalyst

ATI Mobility Radeon 9200 Problems
I have the ati radeon 9200 card and have installed the latest omega drivers. However, when I run the mobility modder and attempt to install the ati catalyst it still gives me the message about INF not found. I am having trouble watching DVD's because they stutter and I am wondering whether it is anything to do with this. I also have recently installed GTA San Andreas and it will not work. I get an error message everytime the game starts and it has to shut down. I don't understand why the mobility modder wont let me install the ati catalyst so at least I can check to see if that will solve any of my issues. Please help!

I just tried that and i still get the INF error message. It tells me that setup was unable to complete the installation and also says 'Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup'. What does that mean? I am supposed to be installing the 5.10 catalyst set from ATI aren't I?

Still wont install them. I tried uninstalling all ATI drivers and using driver cleaner and then installing the omega drivers again, but I am still having trouble with my DVD playback and playing GTA SA.

Hey, I'm having trouble downloading your mod tool. I get the OCX error described on your page, but I should go into a quick detail:
Compaq v2311 Turion 64 ATI x200 Mobility RADEON My harddrive is partitioned so that C: is Windows XP Professional and D: is Windows XP Pro x64. I'm wondering if this is causing problems with your program. I'm in the 64-bit edition right now. Any ideas on getting it to run? (Yes, I tried downloading the ocx and putting it in various places, on both partitions...) |

Hello Patje,
first of all thank you very much for your great work. I would like to know if there is any chance to include the resolution 1680x1050 (my standart res) into your moblity modder, since i have to patch the inf file manually every time after using the modder to update my drivers. The Catalyst Mobile drivers by ATI does not support this resolution, too. I wrote a feedback to the crew today, hoping to get an answer. Thank you very much in advance and have a nice weekend. Greetings from germany. TimeTraveller |

Hey Patje,
Im a newbie, but i had an issue with the Modtool. I used the 5.10 drivers from the ATI site, carefully followed all directions, and even re-downloaded everythings. The Modtool ran the install again, but in the middle i still recieved the "INF missing" message. Also, I assume that i am suppose to point the modtool to the overall directory containing all the unzipped ATI driver files. @Simonof17,
try this: Delete the current C:\ati folder and start over again.\ @mradun, Are you trying to mod the files under the xp partition or the 64bit partition? Try to do the modding under XP first. @Timetraveller, I'll try to put in the next version. I see you know how to do it, otherwise I would have recommended Powerstrip. @sufdude, what video card does your laptop have? @JC and IIamablaster, Have you tried the 3.1 version? http://users.skynet.be/FCB/DHmodtool3.1.exe If so try using powerstrip (google for a link) Sorry haven't been around much guys, always busy busy busy...

I tried the 3.1, but it didn't work. Max res still at 1024x768 instead of 1280x800.

Hello Patje !!!
I`ve got a problem with my Acer Aspire 1694wlmi (X700 - 256MB) I`ve downloaded the latest drivers (Ati Catalyst 5.11) , installed it ... then dl the Mobility Modder , but when I start it it gives me this error : "Component 'Richtx32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered , a file is missing or invalid " and then I can`t do anything but to press OK and the program closes !!! How can I fix that ? 10x in advanced !!! |

well, the best drivers I don't really know.
It depends what you want, some games will run better with the omega's some won't That's for you to find out. I always use stock Ati drivers myself (or with the modtool for the laptop) and i'm quite happy with them
