Riot Police Go on Strike

Yesterday Riot Police took to the streets of Gaborone to protest what they claim to be unsatisfactory remuneration. They held up placards and sang songs as they went on a violent rampage throughout the city, terrorising everyone in their way.
At lunchtime they caused havoc in Main Mall as they broke shop windows and kicked down hot dog stands. Businessmen and civilians alike ran away in fear.
The chaos went on for hours throughout the entire day, as there was no one at hand to stop them.
“We will keep protesting and vandalising the streets of Gaborone until our demands are met,” said Sergeant Thabo Mosele,” we will not give up until we are given the justice we deserve!”
Early that morning, they marched to Parliament on a clear road with no interference from anyone.
“This strike is actually much easier than I thought, said Private Girlie Kebitseng, “sometimes we have to take a break in between destroying stuff just to sit down and rest.”
The move caught government by surprise, as this is the first strike of its kind, leaving everybody confused.
“This has never happened before,” said Vice President Mompati Merafe, “I mean, whenever students strike, we just beat them up. But who’s gonna beat up the Riot Police?”
Initial reports coming in from the media stated that university students were on strike, only to find out later that it was the Riot Police that were striking and they just happened to be beating up university students at the time of the reports.
The media has however refused to correct their initial reports, saying, “This won’t be the first time we’ve reported unfairly on university students. I’m sure they’re used to it by now.”
Meanwhile, the public has been advised by Master Dee to stay at home, lock their doors and windows and watch Pop Star. An idea to which civilian Kago Kimane responded, “I would rather go out and get beaten by Riot Police.”
