Hi,
Well...I like this genre of music...I started listening it about 2 months ago. My first dubstep song that I listened was Skrillex – Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites (Noisia remix). What was yours ? Share you impressions about this genre and some tracks of this genre. Some info about dubstep: __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in south London, England. Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals". The earliest dubstep releases date back to 1998 and were darker, more experimental, instrumental dub remixes of 2-step garage tracks attempting to incorporate the funky elements of breakbeat, or the dark elements of drum and bass into 2-step, which featured B-sides of single releases. In 2001, this and other strains of dark garage music began to be showcased and promoted at London's night club Forward (sometimes stylized as FWD>>), which went on to be considerably influential to the development of dubstep. The term "dubstep" in reference to a genre of music began to be used by around 2002, by which time stylistic trends used in creating these remixes started to become more noticeable and distinct from 2-step and grime. A very early supporter of the sound was BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel, who started playing it from 2003 onwards. In 2004, the last year of his show, his listeners voted Distance, Digital Mystikz and Plastician (formerly Plasticman) in their top 50 for the year. Dubstep started to spread beyond small local scenes in late 2005 and early 2006; many websites devoted to the genre appeared on the internet and thus aided the growth of the scene, such as dubstepforum, the download site Barefiles and blogs such as gutterbreakz. Simultaneously, the genre was receiving extensive coverage in music magazines such as The Wire and online publications such as Pitchfork Media, with a regular feature entitled The Month In: Grime/Dubstep. Interest in dubstep grew significantly after BBC Radio 1 DJ Mary Anne Hobbs started championing the genre, beginning with a show devoted to it (entitled "Dubstep Warz") in January 2006. Some tracks:

Re: Dubstep
I only like certain dubstep songs, most of them don't do it for me. And I find I grow tired of the songs I like in the genre as well. Maybe it's just not for me lol.

Re: Dubstep
personally i'm a fan of new forms of music and such.....
but dubstep isn't exactly one of them. It's like trying to bake a cake without using any cake, and making it out of pure icing..... a good portion of it was totally unnecessary and is missing a lot that should still have remained even if there is less of it. I'm all for a good amount of bass in music.... But there is just far to little of the other ranges of frequencies. Just like there are some music that have far to little of the low frequencies. The only dubset i like are the ones that keep a relatively good balance, not overpowering use of the signature stuff or excessive use, but also keeping a decent melody and range of other musical "instruments". Although i find videos like these utterly hilarious or this..... ![]() Dubstep on a custom made 1500 watt powered 18" Cerwin Vega 189-JE (Junior Earthquake) most commonly used in large concerts/clubs/theaters, can make you feel a little ill after awhile...

Re: Dubstep
I didn't know this type of music had a name or that it was even a seperate type. When I found out, (February 2012), I started listening it more and more. I don't know DJs or whatever they are called these days, or even song titles, I don't care either. What I do is tune in to some streaming station playing dubstep and just enjoy the music. So far it is a 30-70, 30% I like them enough, 70% I can't wait for it to finish. I tend to prefer those with more and clear bass and higher tempo, than those which sound almost like regular pop songs.

Re: Dubstep
Some pretty good choons there, although for me, not a Genre that is on my playlist. Quite a few different influences there for me. The Nero - Must Be The Feeling (Kill The Noise Remix) was very good actually. However, Techno - House - Trance for me.
