My Glass House

This is my first real attempt at writing a poem other than the occassional Roses are red, Violets are blue stuff (LOL ), so please let me know what u guys think about it. It is about a painful experience I had recently, but i'll let the poem tell the story.


[color=white]My Glass House[/color]


[color=white]Here I stood in my little house of glass[/color]
[color=white]Always looking out while others try to look in[/color]
[color=white]They came as little armies of one’s and two’s[/color]
[color=white]Trying their hardest to see what’s inside[/color]

[color=white]With hands cupped and faces pressed against the glass[/color]
[color=white]These beings began their exploration of my soul[/color]
[color=white]But as always the results were the same[/color]
[color=white]And soon they left with disappointment on their faces[/color]

[color=white]Heavy sighs of relief fell from me[/color]
[color=white]My racing heart began to ease[/color]
[color=white]Safe for yet another day I thought[/color]
[color=white]But then you came along and things began to change[/color]

[color=white]You were unlike the others, different in many ways[/color]
[color=white]When they tried, failed and walked along[/color]
[color=white]You just stood there staring on[/color]

[color=white]Why won’t you go away?[/color]
[color=white]Why won’t you just let me be?[/color]
[color=white]But you only stood out there[/color]
[color=white]Eyes fixed on me[/color]

[color=white]Days passed, months, a year[/color]
[color=white]Something felt strange, something in the air[/color]
[color=white]These tall panes of glass began shifting[/color]
[color=white]Slowly they allowed outside eyes to look in[/color]

[color=white]What’s happening to me?[/color]
[color=white]Why do I feel this way?[/color]
[color=white]I tried desperately to cloud the glass once again[/color]
[color=white]But instead it only cleared[/color]

[color=white]So here I stood fully exposed[/color]
[color=white]With no more one way glass to hide behind[/color]
[color=white]You then smiled and waved to me[/color]
[color=white]And soon the sun shone brightly inside[/color]

[color=white]Things were going great for a while[/color]
[color=white]Everything seemed swell[/color]
[color=white]But then those gray clouds came along[/color]
[color=white]And everything went to hell[/color]

[color=white]For through this little glass house of mine[/color]
[color=white]I saw the real you, the real person inside[/color]
[color=white]A person who in a way was just like me[/color]
[color=white]For instead of glass you lived in a house of steel[/color]

[color=white]Then one day things really got bad[/color]
[color=white]You picked up some stones and held them tightly in your hand[/color]
[color=white]One by one you released them from your grip[/color]
[color=white]Their glassy destination near[/color]
[color=white]You did this calmly, without a care[/color]

[color=white]So you threw your stones[/color]
[color=white]And threw them you did[/color]
[color=white]Now all that stands here[/color]
[color=white]Is a broken man left to rebuild[/color]

J/k This is totally rad, I know how you feel, and i get the same vibe about this as what something I had going on for myself. Truth of insides are hard to tell, Lets see some more because this is great, terrific... ausome keep going woot!!!!!!!!

I know this is asking alot from you, but if you enjoy metaphor and you write so well perhaps there is something that brought you joy you could write about..

well i guess so, jeff, but i do have a few poems in the making that rn't so 'happy', so when i get those done i'll see about those happy thoughts... but like greg said to me one day, sometimes writing about the good and the bad helps, so well see...
