Portrait [please comment]

No longer a portrait virgin.

This took me quite some time i must admit. I haven't quite thought of the background on this character yet. I see her as being at some sort of funeral, maybe her husbands or perhaps visiting his grave with flowers.. I will paint more to it once i know what i want.

I am pretty shocked at how it came out for a first time. What do you guys think of it? Please tell me all the bad aswell as good so i can tweak it, or any ideas of what to make the atmosphere of the image like.

There's something about the chin that bothers me; other than that it looks great!

I don't think the new chin goes with the big nose. It's like "Hey I'm Ms. Nose!"

She looks both indifferent and regretful. Maybe someone's got dirt on her and she's working for them against her will, or she just got revenge in a way that's totally not her character.

As far as the image goes, it's kinda blurry; makes me squint and twist my eyes to focus, which is kinda annoying. I don't know if this is digital and that's something you can fix or not.

new chin is good...but yes...try adjusting the nsoe to fit it.

The first chin looked like it belonged on a much fatter person, and the nsoe was matched to fit it, i think.

Aside from that, most excellent work

The upadates look much better and natural.
I think your cheek's shadow are too dark right after the mouth, sorta makes her look like she has puffy cheeks. Rest is nice man!

cheers, thought i'd try some sort of BG to it, but it's not going very well.after trying graveyards + gravestones and other sad things i painted this..

yeah the kid thing is what i was going for in the end, only cos i couldn't make anything else fit. Perhaps she lost hers or maybe even killed one in a car accident or something. Just something i done whilst slightly out of my senses last night

yes i would usualy agree with you on that one. although in this case.. no

I don't think that idea is either suited to the image or shown very well by the way i made it. Perhaps if i re-did it i might be able to make it fit better.

I am begining to think i should have no story to it \ any BG. a simple gradient or some 2D might look better.
