DC3, in Norwegian service I think or Swedish or Danish, not sure, it survived the second world war I believe and they polished it up for the show, it flys in the "flying legends" show today in fact at Duxford.

If I could afford to walk around for six hours I would see a great show, but my feet get pretty sore after awhile.

Man wish I could go, seems like there's going to be an awful lot to see, p-51 mustangs and spitfires are my favourite classic war planes. Seems like you're having fun all the same lol.

The Merlins warming up are quite a good thing, and there are trades and displays. I know the hangers and planes inside and out as a Friend Of Duxford I get to pester the crew that restores most of the static and flying displays, even too a ride in Spitfire, but my joy is watching the children and families see something that will most probably be gone within years.
There are companies that retool old plane parts and remanufacture and improve the old designs and make facsimiles, but the engines are the real challenge. I want to see the ME 262 and BF 109G that have recently been re-manufactured in Germany to fly again here, but that his a long shot. The Allsion license built Merlins are more powerful than the domestic british engines but they lack the passionette throb and rumble of the American version IMO. Key Publishing Aviation Images check the link out, its wondeful pics of various planes flying and otherwise. It is my greatest desire to be able to fly again one day, but I am afraid my instrument and VFR skills are way below par, hell I cant even ride a motorcycle safely.

Wonderful site, been checking it out, bookmarked, I want to maybe change professions to pilot but the training is quite expensive and taxing. Still I want to be a pilot enough that I don't mind doing it over time, pacing myself through, it is indeed rewarding to be able to fly wherever you want to on a warm afternoon, have always enjoyed taking off and landing whenever I fly but the fact that I'm not the one in control of the plane has me wishing to be behind the controls and flying toward the horizon on a beautiful sunny day.

But I love aircraft, love to hear them rumble and fly overhead. I admire pilots and their skills in combat and during aerobatics.
