If you like horses, I'm going to have to get you a shot of the Budweiser Clydesdales at Busch Gardens Williamsburg when I go in a couple weeks...
Those animals are huge.

Is the pool especially for therapy for the horses - or some excercise regimen?

thanx Z
the pool is a particulerly good idea for all horses regardless of breeding because it really takes weight off so to speak and they enjoy it.

they dont necessarily like the water at first, its bloody cold, and the horse hooves never touch the bottom, they have to work very hard.

Well, it stands to reason that with the humidity and occasional heat in the summertime and the body core temp of the horse increasing with exercise I suppose it gets warm, but warming and cooling muscles in trained animals is a science I think, at least the trainers would have you believe that..LOL. My slovakian friend has only been doing it for a year and he is very familiar with horse anatomy and physiology, etc. I believe he intends to bring his knowlege back with him to Slovakia because the Labor Party wants all foriegners to pay for the privilege of working in the UK, so who knows. I sure have learned alot..

Erm...it's LABOUR, not labor. Please take heed of your Monty Python thread or we may well have to re-colonise lol

But back on topic - I think that is a science. As so much as the physiology of a animal (or human) in sport is crucial for performance.

Well you know I know the human A&P quite well, as a provider I had to know a bit, but the horse dynamics are amazing, as strong as these animals are, certain kinds of stress can permanently damage them so trainers have to be keen on recognizing their problems. I have never really seen a sick horse, but watching the animal rescue shows on the television, you get a sense that if they are poorly fed and they dont exercise then that stresses them a bit, and shortens their lives quite a bit. Perhaps they are like humans that way I suppose, LOL
