A Budweiser Clydesdale, and...

A remembrance of our family's latest trip to the Olde Country - Busch Gardens Europe, in Williamsburg VA.

Coasters over the Rhine - left to right, the Alpengiest, the Griffon, the 30 year old Loch Ness Monster (yellow...), and even the Big Bad Wolf (red, left, foreground)

Yeah, Nessie loops round and round through a pitch black tunnel after the first loop over the water, and when you exit the tunnel it loops you upside down again - still a great ride. We rode that one for the last half hour the park was open that night, must have been six or seven rides in that time - walked right on each time around. My nine and eight year old boy and girl definitely got their fill that night - they loved it!

The Griffon is a marvel, you truly feel like your riding a mechanized behemoth - it is awesome, and they stop to hang you for a moment at the top of the first drop (205 feet) which is truly straight down - face first.

The Alpengeist is still the overall best ride though I think - fast, twisty, looping, and smooth as silk.

Didn't wait any longer than ten minutes for any of the coasters that day, except for the front seat on the Alpengeist - up to 30 minutes - but there's no substitute for the front seat on that coaster.
