DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
We have a few people here at Driverheaven who are extremely talented, some with a camera, others with a pencil and paper. Then you've got the lazy kind like myself that just prefer to dabble in photoshop with a monitor and mouse.
This thread contains some of the work i think is of the highest quality and deserves special commendments. Photography RoyBatty - http://www.hardwareheaven.com/heavenly...r-18-only.html Even though Roy was attempting to poke some fun at the comprimising position these ladybirds were caught in, if you look past the humour can see some damned fine photography techniques have been used to achieve this incredible piece. A Beautiful blend of near and far Depth of Field has been achieved, which draws attention to the reed and ladybirds uh... "moving" on it. A personal hi-5 to RoyBatty for this incredible piece ![]() Fallstaff - http://www.hardwareheaven.com/heavenly...r-germany.html Jeff is a very lucky man when it comes to showing his Artistic side. Lots of free time and access to a high quality camera allows him to go take some frankly amazing shots that to be honest stun me here at Driverheaven. This piece entitled "Over Germany" is an Aerial & Panoramic shot most likely taken from an aircraft (Correct me if i'm wrong Jeff?) which shows a beautiful rural landscape below. With little cloud and plenty of light this serene and isolated landscape is displayed beautifully far below. Wonderful shot Jeff, 5 stars and a pat on the back for you ![]() Knight Breed/Mac Daddy - http://www.hardwareheaven.com/heavenly...ds-sunset.html This piece was one that really struck me, The way the sunset and the horizon are perfectly silhouetted against each other really make the picture stand out from the crowd especially with such rare cloud formations. If you like to read between the lines you could say that the formations in the clouds could imply chaos, whilst the calm water displays an impression of order. Forming the traditional conflict between chaos and order which is so rarely captured on film by even professionals of the highest calibre.
Fantastic shot Knight Breed/Mac Daddy! Last edited by Mousey; May 21, 2009 at 11:06 PM. |

Drawings (Traditional)
Skylineaddict - http://www.hardwareheaven.com/heavenly...0-minutes.html When i first saw this piece i couldn't believe it was a 10 minute job, i could have sworn that Skyline was lying when he posted the thread title. And just for the record, were you? God only knows how many tiny pencil strokes were used to create this piece but the way they all knit together to create this absolute masterpiece proves that there are people on earth that truly can translate anything they imagine to paper. Utterly amazing, Top notch work Skyline! And of course we have to give credit to Jeff/Fallstaff for producing some amazing work despite having small handicaps. Unfortunately i couldn't find any of your stuff that really does show what you can do Jeff, you'll have to point the links out to us! |

Oh, and what I didn't show in that picture is the eyebrows, which were horribly placed.

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
You don't need a high quality camera, I've seen some amazing shots taken with little "point&shoots"

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
your right stick, it isnt the megapixels, or the lense, its the magic.
if a transformation occurs, any sort of transformation of emotion or thought or imagination, then I think a picture earns some merit. Like the pics of Australia, if I can imagine myself on the beach or hear the waves or smell the ocean or feel the last warm rays of the sun setting, then that works for me.

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
Thanks, I'm glad you like the picture. I have some more similar pictures from that day, but this one is enough
![]() I'm going to buy a new camera soon, I have a Fujifilm F40fd now and I decided to get a Canon SX10 IS. Should be more fun with its full manual control and 20x zoom. |

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
I love Canon Products, but I mainly use Tokina or Sigma Lenses. I use my 40D, 450D and G10 for almost everything round the farm. You have made a good choice and I think you will be pleased. Should you decide to spend a few sheckles more, a good Nikon or Canon with interchangle lenses might offer some flexibility but I look forward to anything you can conjour with your new Canon
Cheers.

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
Fallstaff: Yes, some entry-level DSLR was one of the options, but I decided to get this all-in-one camera so that I don't need to carry multiple lenses with me. Another candidate was Fujifilm S100fs, but I decided for the less expensive SX10. I ordered it today, hope it will be here soon...

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
So after giving up the the Canon SX10 (it's completely unavailable here), I bought the Fujifilm S100fs. I've been playing with it since Tuesday and I like it, great machine
I'll post some pictures later...

Re: DH's Top Creative Hands Thread
its a good choice, as a bridge camera it will deliver great performance and the zoom is the one thing that you might take advantage of. Like my G-10, you can have lots of fun with it. I look forward to your next post man.
