the vids and the photo shop skillz are mad cool but i gotta say the music really sucks.

The techniques he uses are very basic and don't seem to recreate the Smurf's (As my college lot call them, We've seen avatar and think the hype is bigger than the hit) features as well as they could do. Take the tribal pattern for instance, It was done with a brush that he most likely didn't make and didn't credit anybody for at the end of the video.

It would have been a lot more time consuming but a lot more satisfying to make your own design.
