Photoshop Phailures
These are just some pictures I photoshopped in CS3. Some of them are promo stills for Evil Wine Films, some of them are for fun and the last is a demo album I released in late 2006. I don't really have much experience with Photoshop, so I'd like an opinion or ten on it.

Re: Photoshop Phailures
They're not too bad at all mate
My only suggestion would be experiment with blending styles on text (Right click on layer > Blending Options), Play about in there and tweak to your heart's content, But whatever you do, DO NOT enable Bevel & Emboss because it screams Photoshop louder than a Metallica Concert ![]() Another suggestion for you would be experiment with Adjustment Layers, At the bottom of your layers panel in the middle is a Half Black/Half White circle, Click it and choose one of the options from the drop down that will appear. When you select these you will notice a new layer will appear with the name of the adjustment layer you've just put on; IE "Colour Balance". Try experimenting with Colour Balance, Curves, Levels and Photo Filters. The great thing about adjustment layers is you can simply use the eraser tool to touch up parts you don't like, And you can adjust the opacity and blending mode. Try adding in a Colour Balance using the adjustment layers method and set the blending mode (Where it says "Normal" next to opacity in your layers plane) to something else, Just experiment ![]() The fourth picture i'm particularly liking, Great soft focus, Nice clarity and sharpness on the detail, The lighting and shadow is good and the subtle colour change looks nice as well Try adding a Curves adjustment layer, Bring out the shadow a little more it'll look even better ![]() What i'm about to tell you is liek uber secret; Create a new layer above everything else, Hit Ctrl + A to select all, Then push Ctrl + Shift + C and then Ctrl + V, What this does is called "Copy Visible" which basically puts your entire image so far into one flat layer, Once you've done this Press Ctrl + J to duplicate this layer, Then go to Filter > Blur > Box Blur, Set it to about 5/6, You want it to be fairly blurry. Then set the Blending mode (As i described above ) to lighten and use the eraser tool to erase the blur around the faces of subjects/important details ect. It's a little trick i've been using for many a year now, Never fails, Once you've discovered how to do it you'll be able to sniff it out on my work a mile away ![]() Hope this helps you a little bit mate

Re: Photoshop Phailures
wow mousey.. wish I had you walking through my university. .I could use someone who could explain photoshop to me. I need to do lot's of work on there with presenting designs and stuff like that. Doing just basic things takes me a few hours what you probably could do in 5 minutes..
