Never seen a black squirrel before, in fact I haven't seen the red ones that are supposed to live here, despite twice visiting a red squirrel sanctuary and not seeing a single one! Only ones I see are the large grey ones.

I love squirrels, and I agree, the red ones in Scotland are gorgeous, I tried taking pics in the fall but they were too clever. The grey ones really tear up the limbs of trees because their teeth grow so much faster. Now the black squirrels are rather docile in comparison.

Very nice pic...

Even though its a little odd to see a Black Squirrel..Every one i see normally around some of the local parks etc are Grey....

In my 37 years i have only seen 3 maybe 4 Grey's crossing over my rear fence... One Fox in my garden,A sparrow Hawk eating its lunch..

And the best surprise i had were seeing four Bats flying past my window,And thats something i have never seen before at all.

Red's are supposed to be Very Shy and are very difficult to spot as far as i know..
