Testing out my new lens - Sigma 70-200 2.8
As the title suggests, these are the results from my first day shooting with my new Sigma 70-200 2.8.
Minimal post-production, just colour temperature adjustment ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very very nice. That lens seems comparable to the Canon's L series 70-200. What body are you using it on?

Just a 600D, nothing too flash, have a battery grip on it or I'd never be able to hold it with a big lense

Nice shots. Makes me want to get some higher quality lenses for my XTi. However i've been thinking of upgrading to the T3i... not sure.

Fabulous pics.
I like the birds against the sunset, great colours and contrast. The 1st kitteh has cool DoF and the pale blue eyes look cool. The skyline over the ocean is also a really nice shot. |

Depending on your camera, you may have to keep your ISO lower. My images always get noisy at anything above ISO 400.

A decent lens will give you better quality photos than a new body... however as mentioned above, older bodies don't work too well in terms of high iso noise/grain - the XTi (400D?) is a little too noisy for my liking above ISO400 (I have one of these aswell)

Yes 400D and T3i is the 600D. I like the flip out screen. Some times the camera is up high on a tripod and it sucks to climb up on a chair and do a balancing act just to stick your eye into the viewfinder. And some other little features which i wouldn't mind having.

Re: Testing out my new lens - Sigma 70-200 2.8
the flip-out screen is pretty hand for that sort of stuff, just don't expect the autofocus the be anywhere near fast or accurate during live view - manual focus will be the key there
it was the "little features" that made me buy this one rather than save more for the 7D - flip out screen, relatively small/light weight, even with a battery grip - a necessity for me, higher IQ than my 400D and 450D bodies, and most importantly, wireless flash control built in - that is fun/useful
