grandpa's tractor

years have passed since I saw the old man crank up the old Allis Chalmers, his tedious stacking and sorting of the fresh timothy and hay and alfalpha was made much easier with the old red tractor. Now he is gone...and this remains the only thing that firmly is his in every respect, no one could start it but him...now it sits idle...awaiting it's turn at destiny..I knew him for what he did in his life and never for what anyone said..he worked hard...and this machine is his epitaph....god rest his soul

Nice pic and sweet words. Reminds me of my Grandfather--God rest his soul. He had an Allis Chalmers tractor as well...I really miss my Pap.

it took a while to accept grandpa's death, the tractor is all I can muster right now...but Penquin did a wonderful montage of grandpa...I treasure it now...it is my favorite..and when I am down...I look at it and remember the warm springs and summers in the Big Sky country of Big Timber Montana...I came from common hard working stock but I want to rise above my humble beginnings just like my grandpappy...I dont pray for his soul but every day I ask his advice...and sometimes...I think I get it...

Very nice pics Jeff! Reminds us all that we should take a moment and look at the pictuers of our lives and remember all we can about that second of our lives captured in a photograph. As that one second can hold years worth of memories!

that really touched my heart....
makes accepting his passing....less difficult
in the living years so much I wanted to say to him...
but every time I see my son and my daughter..
I will always see him again
like a reflection in a quiet pond
almost tangible, almost within reach...
and yet eternal...it reminds me of a song...
