F1 Car Render

Hi all,

Just thought I'd post this render I made of an F1 car - I originally made the model for Battlefield 1942, so is quite lowish poly - but I do like the render.

Cheers.

Here's another one I worked on a bit today. Again, the model was created for BF, so not exactly high poly.

They are both really cool. Nice reflections on the F1.

Yup, it is a Lancer. Such sweet cars. I had the chance to drive a rally spec'd one, and instantly fell in love with it. So I decided to add it to BF1942. I only recently went back and made that render using it. There's still a lot that could be done to it, so I'm going to improve it as best I can.

Of course, I'll post any updates here

Thanks again for the feedback.

Yeah, there's some fantastic tutorials @ http://www.3dluvr.com/content/article/80. There's also an Audi TT tutorial - try one of them, the first one I did was the Z3.

Very useful.

After that UVWmapping (and texturing) is fairly simple.

Then its just a matter of playing about with it in Max.

Once you get it to that stage, can you animate it pretty easily in that program?

In all honesty, I've not actually done any animation. BF is quite good in the respect that you dont have to add any extra animation in order to get things working.

I think the only animation I've done is a CS model doing the 'YMCA' dance a couple of years back

Wow the cars are awesome, and that f1 racer is astonishing, the reflections just make it look sweet. A job well done!

Hey, that's still a cool render. Pink is actually a real color of one of the teams isn't it?

hehe nope not as far as I know.

It's actually meant to be purple, but I think it messed up in the brightning up stage which makes it look pink(ish). The logo's etc are a GSP here in the UK - done mainly as a marketing tool for the BF mod the F1 car was going to be included in (I was hoping to borrow a server off them for testing of the mod - hence the decals of the company)
