myself as well, he is still wearing his Major rank here, but he is a G-2 guy...I miss him...it is his second tour, he flys over hostile territory. I have been trying to get over there, one of my colleagues is going there now....he can report back to me about my brother..

dont mean to poke or pry, but how can u "get over there" and wat about would u be doing there? (i know to help but ims juss nosey i guess!) i assume yer not military but i could be wrong

some of our software was purchased by the department of defense, for deployable units, we teach the use to deployable units as well, I didnt have a current passport or I would have gone...sigh..

no it does not, he just doesnt have a desert camo one. it all depends on what ur issued.

We used to make all of our officers wear different colour combats in Belfast too. Can't think why

.......oh yeah thats right it gave us time to duck before the second round landed.

Only kidding squaddie humour that, he would understand. Being ex-army I always have a lot of respect for the guys on the ground I'll be sure to include him in my prayers and hope he's back home safe and well soon.

doesnt wearing the dark green camo defeat the purpose of desert cammo? is this becouse of supply? or to make it easier to destingush officers in the field...?

It is not because of his rank or anything. The 'green camo' (BDUs) is the generic, issued BDUs. In otherwords, if someone is around a base in America, it will most likely be the green.

Also, you will notice he is wearing normal DBDUs (desert). The green vest-like thing is a flak jacket. Now, unfortunately, there is a shortage of flakjackets in the war. It is not a huge one, but they are going to be using every one they have and people are not going to really have a choice.

But, when it comes down to it, it is much better to have a flak jacket of different color, than no flak jacket at all. Because honestly, most insurgents suck at shooting a gun...it is the RPG and various bombs that are the concern (which dont care what color you are). Like drake said, it all depends on what you are issued.

But fallang, I salute your brother, and pray for him to come back safely.
