I believe it was an old dodge truck, used to power the mine because electric power was hard to come by, the pit is covered up, but the electrical power it provided ran a large mine...

lots of these things about really, and the terrain is terrible on vehicles...
I blew a large all terrain tire just trying to get to this place, imagine those that stoically endured and scraped what they could out of the land..
Actually Nevada is one of the richest states in the whole union, and if we could economically get the gold and copper and other sulfides out it would destroy the land...

thats one of the things i love about out west. that truck is easily 65 years old, but it appears to be very solid with only surface rust.

around here if you do that, any car or truck will be completly rotten away within 15 years or so.

or less...especially the chevy I was driving...its white and they are notoriouis for chipping pain and the zinc primer resisting the original paint.

No lie there. I had a Subaru here in MI that was 8 years old and it looked like someone had given it some shotgun air conditioning.

ha ha...yeah
saw lots of things that once rolled about here full of shotgun holes...saddening but Americans just have to shoot things...
