Planetary Eclipse

My first go at a space themed wallpaper (made a few after that too, chek my website for more: http://koti.mbnet.fi/little_t ) Let me know what you think, most comments have been from friens or family, so a objective comment would be nice.

Looks nice, though I don't really like the bar in the middle of it. Sorta takes away from the rest of the image, I think Oh, couldn't hurt to have some more planets too

I agree with you on the bar part,(no bar version) the bar is on a separate layer, so that's no problem. With the plantes I'm afraid that if I add more planets it takes away the subtlety of the wallpaper, it's not really supposed to distract, the one planet is just the highlight. I've made different space themed walls (available on my website) with more planets, and some of them seem too crowded somehow.
This is my favorite

I really like your favorite. How do you make the rings of the planet? I've always wondered about that...

Basically just by creating a B/W Clouds layer and adding full twirl, then just cut the rings out from the image. Then I just added some monocromatic noise. Then colorized the rings and set layer to screen mode. That's about it.
