Need Help on Designing School Library Site

I don't know if this goes here, so move it if you want...

Well, my high school has appointed me to do a library site for them, since, obviously, the current one sucks: http://granitebayhigh.org/departments/library/

(By the way, I know the school's site itself sucks; I would never make something like that =P)

But yeah, I was thinking of doing a design in Photoshop where it shows a desk or work area, with a bunch of books, papers, calculator, and whatnot. I really don't want to do Flash, since I don't even know how to make an interactive website using it, but maybe if someone can teach me or point me in the direction of tutorials on how to do a site quickly using Flash, that would be more than excellent. I know Flash is a lot of work, but it's really not a big site; basically it's going to have the history of the library, like its construction and whatnot, a page about the librarian, feedback from students, pictures, etc.

Anyways, I need some resources and tutorials (PSD files would help too) on how do make books, desks, and library-ish kind of material in Photoshop. I can probably get some stock photos, but I was hoping I could design my own site using things I made myself.

Any help would be great, and I would be more than willing to tell more information. I will also show my progress and tell when the site is complete =)
