-=[ The Deal ]=-
DHzer0point is in search of a new logo, from a yet unnamed graphic artist. That artist, may very well be you.

-=[ The Specifics ]=-
Submissions should be 4:3 aspect ration(standard desktop sizes) and be at least 1024x768, no larger then 1600x1200. They should also be accompanied by a cropped version of the same image to square ratio, sized to 400x400. The DH Logo will be distributed as requested in .PNG format. If you wish to participate in this contest the DH Logo's use is restricted to this contest only and will need to be requested via email to dhzer0point@gmail.com.

-=[ The handoff ]=-
Submissions will ideally be .PSD files(to preserve the layers), but realistically .BMP, or high precision(0% compression/100% quality) .JPG/.TIFF files are also permissable. Text is allowed, but should include our motto, "Anything less is just a driver" All submissions are due no later then Wednesday, December 28th, and should be posted in this thread in 800x600 jpg format.

-=[ The Decision ]=-
Judging will be carried out by Drew [PoopyTheJ], John [pr0digal jenius], and James [Blackboost]. All decisions final, no substitutions, exchanges, or refunds (and most of all, no bitching!). The winner and runner up will be anounced the week of January the 8th.

-=[ The Pay Off ]=-
Aside from the obvious pleasure of seeing your artwork everytime you install the greatest drivers in the world, we are prepared to send some cool stuff your way. We don't wanna spoil the fun and limit ourselves to just one item, so we'll just rattle off a few possibilities:

The winner might get an nVidia 6800GT 256MB AGP card...

... perhaps a 21" Trinitron CRT (IBM P260)...

... an APC Smart UPS 1400

... 1GB OCZ performance RAM

...or some other yet unknown stuff

In addition to one of the above, they may also find themselves the proud owners of one of the following

-Fully customized Unattended Windows XP CD [user provides hardware specs, CD key(s), and a generic list of the types of goodies they want on it, and we'll be in touch until your final product is done, at which point it will be FedEx'd in a jewel case]
-Evercool Aluminum 120mm Case fans (possibly one or 2 80s and a TT X-blower as well)
-Retail Game of Choice
-Newegg Gift Certificate

This message will self destruct upon completion of it's desired lifespan.

Just for clarification, you do not need to email us requesting to enter the competition, it is open to everyone. You simply need to email us your submission as an attachment (either in a .ZIP, .RAR, or just the images), or you need to email us to request the DH Logo, which we will have ready to start sending out ASAP.

If you guys can [this is not a requirement for the competition, merely a request if you have time, or some extra creativity in you

] when you submit, can you also make a simplified version of your submission that will shrink down small without losing it's clarity[some more complex images become very cluttered and hard to make out when shrunk down]. This would greatly be appreciated, and would allow use to make our own icons as well, but like I said, this is not part of the judging, so if you don't/can't, don't fret it

don't know.... possibly something that would easily be made both green and red?

i may flip something up again..... if i get a few million things sorted first... maybe put this new workhouse of a machine to work...

yeah... mine to.... but i try to learn... and fiddle.. .i never get anything to look anything the way i want.. or imagine... i just can't figure out how to do what i want to do

You can enter with as many Logos as you like

Just Email dhzer0point@gmail.com for the DH Logo to incorporate in the DHzp logo.

Guys, you're making this harder then it really is. ANYTHING goes.

I will say this however: Images that are TOO complex tend to look cluttered when shrunken down, which is why we are requiring a 400x400 as well [splash screen], and also note how Drew and my avatars are 150x150, so while you don't have to submit anythign that small, ntoe that that's a definate possibility.

As for multiple entries, go for it, but be sure and keep quality over quantity, having 18 logos made in 5 minutes with the spray can in paint won't increase your chances over someone else's lone 28 hour photoshop masterpiece

Requesting for clarification here.
Do you guys need the logo to be 1024x768 or is that for a wallpaper? So basically what I'm asking is wether you need a logo (IE, DH's "saw") or a wallpaper of some sort? I'll get working.

The Current DHzp Logo looks like my Avatar, only well bigger, you're posting a resized 800x600 here for judging purposes and so everyone can see but we'll need the larger size and the smaller cropped size mentioned above as final pieces (1600x1200 & 400x400), and use your creativity, if you're going to use text include our logo "Quality, First, Last, and Always"

A logo, but don't necessarily put it on a flat BG

think of it as a logo/splash screen

I'll be trying my hand at the contest. I emailed for the logo, but I'm still waiting on that.

BUT, have you though about changing your slogan? Saying "Quality: First, and Always" is fine, but with the word 'Last' in there, it sounds like your saying your "Last In Quality" at times.

please post previews of your ideas here, 800x600 640x480 etc so everyone can see, also if you have questions please post here, please only use the gmail account for requesting the DH logo to incorporate in our logo, we're getting it out to you as soon as we can Z has been really busy and we just got our hands on it ourselves so expect the DH logo in png format shortly gor those of you who have requested it.
